Meet me - Jo Small

From prisons to potting sheds, from Croydon to Croatia, from meeting rooms to muddy fields, I’ve been coaching all over the place (and world!) for the past 17 years.  I’ve worked with international banks, construction companies, manufacturers, marketing teams, senior leadership teams, and CEOs delivering both one to one and team coaching.

I started coaching in 2004 when I became the National Manager for Languages and Adult Learning as part of the government funded National Teaching and Learning Programme. I was instrumental in developing coaching networks across the UK for teachers and managers.

With my other company, Optima Training (UK) Ltd, I work with companies to develop management coaching skills so that coaching becomes part of the workplace. I am also proud to have been a tutor and writer on the Education and Training Foundation’s Mentoring Programme where I supported Further Education Managers in the development of their coaching and mentoring skills.

Personal coaching is such a privilege. I love building trust and creating a secure space for my clients to explore their opportunities and goals. Getting up close with a "lightbulb moment", when a something just clicks, is an amazing feeling.

Adaptive, empathetic and challenging. My approach is honest and direct. I will challenge and motivate you every step of the way.
